So, that's me in high school, the one with the hoop earrings and Miami Dolphins jacket. Back when I was "young."
Yeah, I know, we can't stay that way unless we've been bitten by a vampire (bitten by Ian Somerhalder aka:Damon is good.)
So why the song FOREVER YOUNG?
I was in the hospital twice during high school. One for breaking my back in a car accident. The other for alcohol poisoning. Both times, THIS song was playing over the intercom. (It was my mother who pointed this out. She ought to remember...)
In a strange coincidence, my stepdaughter's Grade 9 graduation song was also Rod Stewart's Forever Young. Thankfully, she didn't end up in the hospital after her grad party...
Leaving you with a listen...(mom, plug your ears)...
I also loved Firehouse, Finger Eleven, Foo Fighters, and this band...
Now that's taking me back! FLEETWOOD MAC was a household staple when I was a kid. My stepdad introduced me to some sweet music back then - a lot of it has stuck with me. Especially this song. Not to mention, it has a kick-ass video.

It's amazing how some songs seem to reappear over and over in our lives. Fleetwood Mac is a great choice too :D
ReplyDeleteKyra, Stevie Nicks was on Idol the other day as a mentor and I was reminded of how much I love Fleetwood Mac...just in the nick (ha ha) of time for the A-Z Challenge.
DeleteFunny we both talk about getting drunk today! :o)
ReplyDeleteShocking!
DeleteWow, you were brave to post an old photograph. I'm not sure I could do it!
ReplyDeleteI love the sound of Rod Stewarts voice. A great track!
Rebecca - not so much brave - I actually prefer those pictures to more current photographs :-) It wasn't too long ago that my me and my sister took my mom to see Rod Stewart. Fun!
DeleteI remember that song. It always reminds me of walking to my music lessons early in the evenings while I listened to the radio. Gosh, those WERE the days! lol
ReplyDeleteOh, love the pic! ;)
Jack - fun to go back, right?
Delete* blushes * thanks. Not sure how the other two in the picture would feel about showcasing that little gem. Ha!
Loved the post and the songs were great to listen to.
ReplyDeleteBeing a music lover myself I appreciated listening to someone eles's choice.
Happy Easter.
Yvonne.
Thanks, Yvonne! Have a wonderful Easter weekend.
Deletefunny, just read another A-z forever young post! (You look about my age in that photo)
ReplyDeleteReally? Now I have to go hunt it down :-D
DeleteErm..Feist, Foster the People, FirstAidKit, all great and worth a listen. Aah to be young.
ReplyDeleteGreat F choices. I totally love Foster the People!
DeleteMan, am i glad I wasn't your mother! I bet you gave her a heart attack both times!
ReplyDeleteI definitely like your song/band choices. I grew up with some Fleetwood Mac, too (though a little earlier stuff--Rumors was a staple). I think though, I'd have to go with Femmes (as in Violent Femmes--is that cheating?)
Hart, yup, I would have given you a heart attack. Likely more than those two times. LOL
DeleteI'll take Femmes. Loved them!
My mother and my brother danced to Forever Young at his wedding. I love that song. It's like a prayer.
ReplyDeleteWhich might explain why the hospital had it on heavy rotation. ;)
Awww. That sweet Suzanne. Yes, likely why it was on heavy hospital rotation!
DeleteYou had awesome bangs.
ReplyDeleteAnd they were even toned down in this picture!
Deletelove, love, love!
ReplyDeleteThanks, Jaimee.
DeleteWhat a cool post. I love how when certain songs play you have images attached to them. Thanks!!
ReplyDeleteStacey~
Thank you, Stacey, for stopping by :-)
